His own mistaken identity and intoxication lead to his brutal death as he crossed the street running from Sam Loomis.
In Halloween II (1981), Ben was chased by Dr. Loomis and Sheriff Brackett, who thought that he was was Michael Myers because he was wearing a similar mask. As Ben crossed a street without looking both ways as he was distracted by the panic, a police vehicle rammed him to a parked van, causing a fiery explosion and instantly killing him.
